Farouk Yahaya has been confirmed as the next COAS by the Nigerian Senate.

Following review of a report by the Senate’s joint committee on defense and army, led by senators Ali Ndume and Aliyu Wammako, the Senate voted to confirm Yahaya on Tuesday.

On June 2, Senate President Ahmed Lawan referred President Muhammadu Buhari’s (retd.) request for Yahaya’s confirmation to the committees.
