Femi Adesina, a presidential spokesperson, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is fully aware of the security challenges in Nigeria.

Adesina made the statement on Thursday, January 30, when dismissing the media narrative which claimed that Buhari said he is unaware of the security challenges in the country.

He argued that Buhari was quoted out of context when he was speaking about the emergence of banditry in the north-west region of the country, The Cable reports.

The presidential aide said Buhari’s statements were slanted to mean that the president said he is unaware of the security challenges in some parts of the country.

Adesina noted that on the contrary, Buhari is fully aware and fully in charge of all that is going on in the country.

Adesina further said that the president’s point was that insecurity in the country is caused by evil plan and not ethnicity or religion.

He warned that any deliberate misrepresentation of the president’s words would harm the country.
