Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has revealed how he fought coronavirus while in isolation after recovering from COVID-19.
In a telephone interview with Fresh FM radio station in Ibadan on Monday, April 6, the Oyo state governor disclosed that he fought the deadly virus with carrots, vitamin C and black seed oil, and honey.

Governor Makinde made the disclosure a day after he tested negative for the disease. Legit.ng recall that Makinde went into isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

The governor speaking on how he fought the disease said he only made efforts to boost his immunity by consuming vitamin C, carrots and black seed oil mixed with honey.

Makinde went on to explain that he used his time in isolation to regularly exercise on the treadmill.

He said: “My very good friend and brother, Dr Muyideen Olatunji is the one in charge of the primary healthcare for Oyo State. He came to me and said, look, I am going to send to you this black seed oil, it boosts immunity. So, I mixed it with honey and took one teaspoon in the morning and one in the evening.

“So, there are local solutions to boost immunity. Our people should not fret. Just as I’ve been able to get the virus out off my system, so will it be for majority of our people.

“I’ve lost a little bit of weight which I think is good. When you’re in isolation, the tendency is just to watch television and eat, I was eating amala. But I was also using the treadmill.”

Meanwhile, the governor faulted the federal government’s measures to deal with the pandemic in Oyo state. He said that the programme to send N20, 000 to people in 10 local government areas of the state is good, but the initiatives already exist in this administration.
