Award-winning singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has reacted to the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Yesterday, Nigeria’s supreme leader had wielded the big stick on Onnoghen and immediately appointed Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN.
“Accordingly, I hereby suspend the Honourable Mr. Justice Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen, GCON as the Chief Justice of Nigeria pending final determination of the case against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal,” Buhari had said.
According to him, Onnoghen’s suspension was based on an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
Buhari said the order demanded that the CJN be suspended depending the determination of his ongoing trial at the tribunal.
The development has continued to stir outrage and backlashes on social media and the “Assurance” crooner, who appeared to be one of those who wasn’t too pleased about Onnoghen’s suspension, expressed his fears about the danger democracy is currently facing in the country.
