D’Tigers victory over Team USA and Argentina were dedicated to late Nigerian artist Sound Sultan by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).

The late artiste died early Sunday morning after a four-year battle with angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma, just as the Nigerian basketball team was celebrating a historic 90-87 win over Team USA in an Olympic friendly.

He was also a well-known basketball lover who contributed to the growth of the sport in Lagos’ Festac neighborhood.

The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) turned to its verified Twitter profile following the Nigerian basketball team’s triumph over Argentina, the world’s fourth-best team, on Tuesday to tribute the two big victories to the late musician.

The tweet read, ”We dedicate the victories against the US & Argentina to the late Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan).

”You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball.

”Ironically, the day we won against Team USA was when you gave up the ghost. RIP.”

According to Islamic rites, the musician, who left behind a wife and two children, was buried in a cemetery in New Jersey, United States.
