Engr. Fidelis Nweze, the Ebonyi Commissioner for Infrastructure Development, has died.

He died in an Abuja hospital after injuries sustained in an auto accident earlier in the week.

On Tuesday in Abakaliki, the state capital, Governor David Umahi confirmed his death to reporters.

Between 2015 until 2019, Nweze served as Commissioner for Works during Governor Umahi’s first term.

Nweze is credited with overseeing much of Ebonyi State’s infrastructural developments in the last six years.

Governor Umahi counted him as a close comrade.
