A crucial meeting of Governors elected under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) is holding at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

Though newsmen were barred from entering the premises, it was gathered the meeting will review and discuss the Supreme Court judgment on Ondo Governorship election of October 10, 2020 as it affects the controversy surrounding the propriety of the occupation of the office of the Chairman by Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni.

A source said the Governors will be deliberating on a position paper from the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) on the apex court split verdict.

The meeting is also to take a position ahead of the proposed planned National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled to hold as soon as President Muhammadu Buhari returns from his medical trip from the United Kingdom.

The Supreme Court on July 28, in a split judgement of 4-3 held the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship election.

Despite the controversies that greeted the judgement and the reservations expressed by some party chieftains and supporters, the Governors in a statement signed by their chairman on Thursday expressed support for Buni.
