Pandemonium and confusion inundated the resumed sitting of the of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, on Tuesday, as five sacked lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) met and commenced impeachment proceedings against the state Governor, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
The five lawmakers were the ones whose seats were recently declared vacant by the speaker of the House, Mr. Onofiok Luke.

It was gathered that they arrived early at the assembly complex with thugs and heavily armed policemen and with a mace to commence the impeachment of the governor.

They chased everyone out, manhandled the press secretary to the speaker, Kufre Okon and headed straight to the chambers.

It was also learnt that there was serious gunfire by security men as the youths try to pursue Nse Ntuen, the factional Speaker and other four out of the chambers and assembly premises.
The governor, however, arrived the venue with members of his cabinet and security details, about 10am, and the 5 lawmakers were chased out of the assembly premises.
